FOLLOW-UPS & COMMUNICATION
Organize follow-ups and customer communication.
Keep quote follow-ups, next-contact dates, and recorded contact history in your workspace. Prepare relevant messages and record the conversation so you know what needs attention next.
A sent quote often needs another conversation. Keep the next-contact date, the proposed work, and the previous outcome together so you can follow up with context.
- Due and overdue follow-up tasks
- Reusable message templates
- Recorded contact history
FOLLOW-UP TASKS
Plan the next contact for an open quote.
Choose a next-contact date and keep the reason in an internal note. The follow-up list separates due and overdue tasks from upcoming contact, completed tasks, and quotes without a contact plan.
- Find the work that needs attention
- Search by customer, quote reference, vehicle, or service.
- Keep the quote close
- Review the proposed work and previous contact before deciding what to say next.
PREPARED MESSAGES
Write the message once, then personalize it.
Save wording you use regularly and insert details from the customer’s quote. Edit the prepared text before copying it. In Communications, prepare appointment confirmations, reminders, after-appointment emails, and invoice-payment messages.
- Reuse the relevant details
- Templates can include the customer, vehicle, service, business, and quote expiration.
- Review before sending
- Check each prepared email and its linked records before sending through configured delivery.
CONTACT HISTORY
Keep a record of what was discussed.
Record the channel you used, the outcome, and any notes from the conversation. When you return to the quote, you can see whether the customer asked for more time, needed a change, or has not responded.
- Record contact separately
- Log phone, email, SMS, in-person, or other contact after it takes place.
- Retain the history
- Complete the task when appropriate and export recorded contact history to CSV when needed.
Do follow-ups send messages automatically?
No. Core follow-ups are internal tasks. You choose the date and make the contact yourself. Copying a message does not send it or record an outcome, and completing a task does not change the quote status.
What is required to send email from DetailMetrik?
The Communications workspace needs configured email delivery and a valid customer email address. You review each message before sending. A provider accepting the message does not confirm that it arrived in the customer’s inbox.
Can I receive replies in a two-way inbox?
Core provides prepared messages and recorded communication history. Two-way business SMS and smart follow-up workflows are planned for Pro and are not currently included in the available product.
